The estimate assumes 12-month company years, adds back depreciation, uses the selected capital allowance for forecast asset purchases and carries forecast tax losses forward. If the forecast ends partway through a company year, the remaining months are estimated from the visible forecast months in that year.

What does this tool include?

What is this tool for?

Use this business financial forecast when you need a more formal view of a company's expected performance and position, such as for business plans, lending discussions, investment applications or scenario planning.

It links profit and loss, cash flow and balance sheet movements so you can review more than the bank balance alone. It is a planning forecast, not statutory accounts or a guarantee of future results.

Assumptions

Common questions

What is included in the business financial forecast?

The tool links a 36-month profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow forecast. It also includes options for VAT, payroll, corporation tax, fixed assets, loans, opening balances and revenue modelling.

How is this different from a business cash flow forecast?

The business cash flow forecast is designed for simple short-term cash management. This tool is a fuller financial projection that links profit and loss, cash flow and balance sheet statements for a formal 36-month view.

Can I use this forecast for a business plan or funding application?

You can use the linked statements and exported reports as planning material for a business plan, lending discussion or investment application. Check the figures and inputs carefully and follow any format or evidence requirements from the organisation reviewing them.

Is the business financial forecast statutory accounting software?

No. It is a forward-looking planning model. It does not prepare statutory accounts, submit tax returns or replace advice from an accountant or other qualified professional.
